The Academic Center and School of Engineering & IT Organize Workshop on Teaching Methods and Strategies

The Academic Center for Learning and Teaching (ACLT) at the Libyan International University (LIMU), in collaboration with the School of Engineering and Information Technology, organized a workshop titled “Teaching Methods and Strategies” for faculty members on 11 November 2025.

The workshop focused on enhancing teaching practices by exploring effective methods and strategies that promote active learning, engagement, and academic success. Faculty members examined diverse educational approaches and considered their applications in different learning contexts to improve teaching effectiveness.

During the workshop, participants explored key concepts in teaching and learning, including learning theories and practical strategies for implementing various teaching methods.

The main objectives of the workshop included:

Defining Teaching Methods and Strategies: Participants learned to define and explain the concept of teaching methods and strategies and understand their significance in higher education.

Identifying and Describing Methods: The session introduced a range of teaching methods, with detailed descriptions and practical examples of how each can be applied in classroom settings.

Comparing Advantages and Limitations: Attendees analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of different teaching methods to make informed instructional choices.

Selecting Appropriate Methods: Participants discussed how to choose suitable teaching strategies based on learning objectives, course content, and student needs.

Understanding Learning Concepts and Theories: The workshop highlighted fundamental learning theories to provide a theoretical foundation for selecting and applying teaching methods effectively.

Practical Application: Faculty members engaged in interactive exercises and discussions to practice implementing teaching strategies in their respective courses.

By the end of the workshop, participants were equipped with the knowledge and practical tools to enhance teaching quality and create engaging, learner-centered educational experiences. The session reinforced LIMU’s commitment to continuous faculty development and excellence in education.
